Message is largely in the video! And…
Right now, while I have the perfect springtime images to go along with my bits and pieces of wisdom and advice, I'll be dropping these in amongst other content.
I will say, if you have the inclination and the opportunity to invest your time, energy, heart, and the childhood experiences of your children into cultivating land — being the first generation to purchase the homestead for generations to come is both an honor and a wise blessing!
Americans have relatively few examples of multi-generational wealth and land development.
While I knew I wanted to do this, my mother's experiences in Portugal during the Covid lockdown of 2020 drove home the tremendous benefits reaped by multiple generations when a family works together to have and to hold land for decades or centuries.
Americans are incentivized and propagandized and encouraged to view their home, NOT as a home, but as a real estate asset.
Usually, this means you will flip the house eventually, benefiting the banks by handing your property off to the next family that will pay interest for 20 or 30 years only to then hand the property off to the next family that will pay interest for 20 to 30 years and it goes on and on with the banking industry making endless amounts of interest off of the same house because no one holds onto it for the long term.
I encourage you to think carefully about what our society tells us to do and look abroad to older countries that were developed long before the real estate market became a dominant part of our economic culture.
Take time to consider what life would be like for your child if he/she didn't have to spend 30 years working a job for a paycheck to pay a mortgage on a property?
Now imagine if you have two kids who can find a way to cohabitate in their childhood home together and perhaps build or develop out houses or additional dwelling units during their generation? That’s 60 years of mortgage payments and many hundreds of thousands of dollars in interest SAVED!!
Now imagine the grandchildren who grow up with parents who grow up with at least one (if not two) dedicated home makers on their childhood home property? Even the parent who leaves the home to work for other people in exchange for a paycheck, will have less stress, a healthier body, and an overall better quality of life!
The benefits go on and on and on…
