When people take a stand on an issue, they put everything they are on the line. It becomes their identity. This is the heart of the problem we face today.
My brother and I have begun speaking via text after blowing up at each other two winters ago and I also reunited with a friend who I hadn’t spoken to since September 2021. I actually don’t know what is going on in their heads about how/why we are back in communication, but for me it is very significant and was only possible because of the emotional psychological and spiritual work I’ve done on myself. I’m glad to hear this. If you discover what has changed in their end, I’d be curious to know. I, as a person who respects individual choice, human rights, and informed consent — have not turned my back on anyone. Those who have ostracized me, however, are those who decided I was either foolish to distrust the pharmaceutical industry and organized health systems OR they believed any person who expressed an opinion that differed from the narrative was “dangerous.” And, they couldn’t accept our difference of opinion. So, I cannot resolve these burned bridges myself, as the fires that destroyed them were started and are being maintained by others. I believe, over time, the same effect of ego and humility will play out, as we’ve seen following all instances of tragic error. Some will accept fault and apologize - others will cling to outdated and disproven beliefs, simply to avoid being wrong. It’s sad but natural to the species, I suppose. Such is life.
Actually, it was me who withdrew from my brother and friend. A preemptive move- because I just didn’t know how to talk to someone so steeped in the narrative and so comfortable with the mandates, etc.
