Thank you for sharing this forward!

Yesterday was so much fun (especially when we grabbed the flashlight and worked for an extra hour in the dark to get the project done!) -- especially as a full-time homemaker who deeply involved my children in all of these self-sufficiency habits from eggs to chicken meat to vegetables to a food forest!

Also, what often goes hand in hand with the full-time homemaker who homeschool his or her children is the idea that college is absolutely wonderful WHEN you know what you want to do and it requires a college degree to do it -- but, there's also great honor and success waiting for people who decide to be entrepreneurs and start their own businesses!

As a homemaker, while I did do some jobs for cash, they were always family inclusive, and so my children were often directly participating with me in that work, from my ballroom, dancing classes to selling vegetables at farmers market to growing strawberries and creating a three year long business with a group of teenagers,My children were right there with me, learning how to be an entrepreneur, how to deal with customers, how to give good service, how to have business meetings every other week with an agenda, and how to manage the income and expenses of that business.

So, it's a joy to watch my older son paying for himself to go through college and getting straight A's and being 100% committed because he took the time to figure out what he really wanted to do, and now he is at a specialty university that is training the next generation of young people who will almost certainly be collaborating and working together, going forward into tech industries that are super important to our society.

And, at the same time, my younger son is making good money doing the type of work that is so perfect for his personality because he just gets along with people in the most amazing ways and really thrives on interacting with other people and he loves the peace and quiet of the farm life.

He’s so joyful and happy as he is pursuing this farmers market based career for himself, with the support of various community members who have watched him grow up and kids his own age who he has been friends with his whole life.

I know that both of my boys -- if they had been placed into the school system to free me up to go out into the world to pursue a paycheck by working for other people -- would not have had the same type of childhood that allowed them to pursue their own intrinsic interests for year upon year upon year, which really led to them knowing themselves so well that they're landing in these really good places that match well with their personality and their skill set and their interests. ❤️
