First, I offer you a challenge. I believe I am the only March Twisdale on Earth. But, am I? I will give a lifelong subscription to the subscriber who can find another one of me!

Now, who am I? I’m you. A human, with a brain that works! But do you believe your brain works? Lots of people don’t. They’ve been told to let others think for them, and they’ve agreed.

School systems (government-funded or private) weaken intrinsic self-confidence, creating a subconscious need for extrinsic affirmation. Parents unintentionally double down on this message, praising their children for “earning the approval of others” and condemning them for not.

All of this training is designed to make us malleable. Easily controlled. Willing to be directed. Inherently self-doubtful. As a result, we trust authority figures over ourselves.

The undermining of humanity is what this newsletter will challenge. There are supercomputers in our skulls! Let’s use ‘em.

When you read my newsletter, you won’t be reading the thoughts and ideas of a woman with nine capitalized letters after her name, and I haven’t (yet) published a book (although, I’m getting there: The Ghost Lords).

The same is true when you listen to my FM Radio Show: Prose, Poetry & Purpose (focused on Authors who seek to inspire positive social change). I didn’t get a journalism degree before writing an 18 month long column for our local paper.

I didn’t have to become a doctor, before a Stanford Documentary was made about my advocacy for personal medical freedom and choice: “Everybody’s Business.”

Nor did I believe I needed a degree in publishing to renovate a retired, local newspaper, giving our community relief from the highly censored and narrative-compliant material offered by our other “local newspaper” — owned & controlled by a Canadian Media Company (Black Press).

The world today, and our history books, are filled to bursting with stories of humans using their brains to do great things - without waiting for an authority figure to give them permission to do so. This newsletter is designed to remind all of us of this basic truth: we are enough already. So, go forth and DO!

Note: “It’s not that hard to create, publish, edit and fund a truly local newspaper! Look into who owns and controls your community newspaper. If it’s not owned by locals - maybe it should be? Newspapers aren’t just a way to control what people think is going on. They serve as resource extraction tools, pulling advertising dollars out of communities across the land, leaving behind only enough to keep a skeleton crew of employees in place, to run the machine. If all business communities were advertising with locally owned papers, the advertising rates would drop, honest reporting would be possible, and the community’s money would continue to circulate in the community.”
