Dear Freedom Friends,
Today I want to share my morning thoughts with you. If it seems dark, it’s not. I’m a generally happy person, because I was taught to perceive challenges as opportunities to overcome, grow and achieve. So, don’t get the wrong idea. For me, the below “early morning” thoughts were an “ah-ha” moment that left me feeling more tranquil. More grounds. More empowered. Not less. Enjoy!
My thoughts, this morning:
One thing I keep in mind at all times, is that tranquility and peace amongst organized groups of humans is extremely rare.
This is not pessimism. It’s strength and honesty. Reality plus historical knowledge plus imagination is empowerment.
Consider, for example, the forces at play that want to utilize complex computer programming to fulfill traditionally human roles in society?
New York City just released robotic, AI dogs into public use. Imagine being “arrested” by a machine? When that happens, our instincts will scream, “This is deeply wrong - I should not obey a computer program.” Yet, will the new laws insist that you do? How creepy and demeaning - not to mention dangerous.
Consider the first corporation to give an AI computer a managerial role over humans? (It’s probably already happened!) This will save Corporations tons of money - so we know they’ll do it - but what will this do to the human psyche?
Being ordered about by a computer program will be equal to AND worse than enslavement by fellow humans. I’m not sure people are giving these consequences adequate consideration.
The forces of power have always been willing to sacrifice fellow humans on the altar of “increased power” — and so, while I recognize modern dangers are new “in design,” they are not new in concept.
We have always had to fight for our lives. And we always will. We might as well get used to it. It’s harmful to ourselves and others, to believe and expect otherwise. Whining is exhausting. Preparation, on the other hand, is invigorating.
Prepare to survive on purpose! Because Earth and human societies offer us no guarantees. And this isn’t bad or a problem. It’s just plain old normal.
