"I don't want to hear about Trump. I'm here for a women's only safe space."
Says a woman who may very well have Trump to thank for her "women's only safe space" continuing to exist at all.

Yesterday, I took a friend to the Olympus Health Spa. This unique treasure can be found deep in the Korean region of Tacoma, or in the culturally diverse community surrounding their newer Lynnwood location.
What’s special about the Olympus Health Spa?
It’s a truly amazing “women’s only space.”
— For now.
There are many things to do at this spa, but my general routine is to spend hours soaking in various pools of differing temperatures, often diving into the steam room, drinking tons of water, and generally relaxing until my skin is super soft and my mind is super calm.
Historically, I’ve visited the Olympus Spa once a year on my birthday. This is because it’s 50% off on your birthday! I know many women who do this, often treating themselves to one of the scrubs or moisturizing services for their special day.
Why do over 10,000 women love the Olympus Spa and return regularly? For me, there’s something incredibly peaceful about being in a room with the constant sound of falling water (the cold plunge has a running water fall) and the gentle murmuring of women — and only women — discussing the types of things that women discuss.
Naked, familiar, relatable, female bodies adorn the space, as women of all sizes, ages, and nationalities share space in that sweet peaceable way that is uniquely feminine.
There is no sexual energy in the space, no careful dance that one finds in co-ed nudist spas (which I’ve frequented often enough to know), no aversion of gazes, and no displays of eroticism or flirtation, even among the lesbian couples, as such behavior is politely discouraged with tasteful signage.
Olympus Spa has been a “safe space” for women for over 20 years.
But that’s being challenged now and Olympus Spa hangs by a thread.
On Thursday, I went with a friend, and she asked me about my ongoing divorce. A perfectly normative topic of conversation when women spend time together, especially in a “safe space” just for women.
Eventually, the conversation turned to my efforts to economically maintain the family home, and my beloved housemates, including a young man from Ukraine who might be leaving me soon. When my friend asked why, I explained that he believes, along with many Ukrainian war refugees, that President Trump will bring an end to this devastating and terrible war.
To highlight the importance of what’s happening in real time at this moment, let’s take a moment to notice steps being taken to bring us closer to Peace in Ukraine.
Trump to meet with Putin in Saudi Arabia as Zelensky says he hopes he’ll broker a peace deal — Feb. 12th, 2025 (excerpt below)
“Earlier in the day, Trump announced that he had personally discussed a peace plan with Putin. He then called Zensky to update the Ukrainian leader.
“I think we are on our way to every peace,” he told reporters of those conversations. “I think President Putin wants peace and President Zensky wants peace. I want peace. I just want to see people stop being killed.
Trump made his comments in the Oval Office on Wednesday when Tulsi Gabbard was sworn in as his director of National Intelligence.”
Okay! Back to the spa!
To me, these world events and the cessation of war are very important. They effect people I love, millions of people I’ll never know, and world peace overall. But, to the woman beside us, she had this to say:
“If you wouldn’t mind, I just can’t hear the name Trump right now. You know, I’m here to be in a women’s safe space.”
Of course, my friend and I ended the conversation. But, I couldn’t get over the irony.
YOU SEE, the Olympus Spa is in a legal fight for its life.
About a year ago, a biological male who self-identifies as a woman (a trans woman) was invited to the Lynnwood Olympus Spa by a “women’s group,” and according to the Lynnwood Times June 12th, 2023 article, when this person called to ask about a service at the Spa, the request was denied, because “transgender women without surgery are not welcome because it could make other customers and staff uncomfortable.”
So, of course — this person filed a civil rights discrimination complaint.
What’s important to know today, is that the case involving the Olympus Spa may end up in the Supreme Court of the United States, because the owners (1) understand allowing intact males into the space would destroy the essence of what they offer (a “safe women’s space”) and (2) doing so would go against the strongly held religious beliefs and cultural mores of the staff and many clients.
FOR EXAMPLE: People are constantly ignoring the fact that devout Muslims have strict codes of behavior around male and female interactions if you are not married or a family member, and so — every space that caves to the “trans agenda” and eliminates gender separation becomes “inaccessible to most Muslims.”
Shouldn’t this bother “left-leaning” people who want to protect minorities?
What exactly is the problem here?
According to the Lynnwood Times news report, the Olympus Spa policy currently states: “Transgender women are only admitted at Olympus Spa if they have undergone post-operative sex confirmation surgery.”
So, it’s not that a biological man, who has castrated himself, would be denied entry. It’s that “transgender women without surgery are not welcome because it could make other customers and staff uncomfortable.”
The Lynnwood Times article reports on several reasons why a person swinging a penis and testicles in the faces of complete strangers who did not consent — is inappropriate, at the Spa and elsewhere. For example, if a person were to walk down the street, with his penis hanging out of his fly, he could be arrested for indecent exposure or laws related to lewd behavior, etc. But, if he goes into a spa created for a 100% female clientele and flashes everyone (including girls under 18) — that’s okay?
I’m not saying the person who filed the complaint would promote such behavior.
In fact, this person has posted on social media about a recent vaginoplasty, which means “she” may now be allowed at the Olympus Spa? But, an ally of women “she” does not seem to be, having been quoted by BuzzLoving! as posting on social media the following: “I realized something important today. I’m more woman than any TERF will ever be because I am an intentional woman, whereas they are only incidental.”
Which brings up several more HUGE points.
If an intact man is allowed to enter the Spa (as WA State demands) simply by claiming to be a “trans woman,” what kind of background check or proof is required?
Couldn’t any man with a desire to gawk at naked women simply say, “Hey, I’m a trans woman,” and the Olympus Spa would be required (by our state government) to allow that man in?
OR, what about the many, many self-identifying “trans women” who are volatile and aggressive online and in queer spaces, insisting that because they are still attracted to women they are now lesbians!
If, for example, a client acts in a way that is belligerent or rude toward “incidental women,” making clients or staff uncomfortable, does Olympus Spa retain the right to deny them service — without being accused of discrimination?
Many “trans women” are still sexually turned on by women, so they’ll be in a room surrounded by NAKED objects of their sexual desire and fantasies (women and girls).
What if they get a hard on? If you’re a biological female lesbian, and you see a woman you consider attractive, no one will know because you don’t have a penis that will become engorged with blood telling everyone how you’re feeling. For the fully intact male, it likely will. Then what?
Forgive me for being blunt, but we are talking about a spa filled with entirely naked women, so the biological realities matter.
And, as it turns out — these are NOT unfounded concerns.
According to the Lynnwood Times article, “There have been prior incidents at Olympus Spa when patrons with male genitals have used the facility. Six years ago, customers complained to staff that someone with “male genitals exposed in the locker room” and as a result felt “humiliation, trauma, and rage” records state. Those patrons demanded refunds and never returned, according to documents.”
The Olympus Spa has been in business for over 20 years, and they have over 10,000 repeat customers. Like me, and my Mom, when she was alive. Women who know they can head to the Olympus Spa when they need a day to recuperate, regenerate, and just soak all the stress of their lives away — free from the energy of men. Especially if your past traumas are related to the violence of men.
In short, women DO need a safe, women-only space!
As a woman, I can attest to the tremendous stress ALL of the women I know are currently experiencing. Across the board, the men I know, are doing significantly better. There are some generalities around this:
Men do better economically, when married and after divorce. I understand this one intimately, as I’ve dedicated 28 years to holding up my end of “the bargain,” by maintaining the family, home, property, and all the endless tasks and jobs that go with that full-time job, and I have no resume, career prospects, 401K, or retirement to show for it.
Men retain their attractive traits when they age (status + wealth), while women lose their primary attractive traits (sexuality/reproductive capacity) & experience significant hormonal changes, making the “aging process” notably more stressful for women than men.
The Prevalence of Autoimmune Disorders in Women: A Narrative Review - May 13th, 2020 — “Autoimmune diseases present with a clear gender bias with a greater prevalence amongst women, occurring at a rate of 2 to 1. Many autoimmune disorders tend to affect women during periods of extensive stress, such as pregnancy, or during a great hormonal change.”
Which brings us back to the woman yesterday who asked my friend and I to end our conversation because she was seeking, you know, a safe space for women, and hearing someone mention the name of the president of the United States of America and his role in ending a hideously bloody war — made her feel unsafe.
Let’s ask the question, shall we?
How is this woman supposed to HAVE that “safe women’s space” without President Donald Trump and his allies stepping up to say, “Enough is enough!” to extreme gender theory and a landslide of new laws and policies aimed at eliminating the very “safe women’s spaces” that she so wants and appreciates?
It is as clear as day that the Trump/Vance Coalition Administration has given industry, corporations, agencies and city/county/state governments the “Green Light” to back away from radicalized policies that were being pushed upon them by the previous administration, and Obama’s tenure as President, as well.
And — if the Olympus Spa’s case makes it to the Supreme Court of the United States, they face a better chance of protecting 10,000+ women and their dedicated and beloved staff, with Donald Trump in the White House and the “afterglow” effect his administration is likely to have on the courts, as well.
As for the person who filed the complaint, one can’t know what motivated the move. It could have been pique, frustration, an intentional act designed to promote trans rights and gain social media followers — or mere disappointment. Either way, one has to question the integrity or thoughtfulness of a person who willingly puts at risk something as precious and nurturing as the Olympus Spa.
To harm 10,000+ women, for any reason, is not healthy — in my opinion.
It’s something our state agencies should have handled better, as well. Thankfully, we continually have the opportunity to address problems within our elected democratic institutions. And, because the American People voted overwhelmingly for a Trump/Vance Coalition Administration — we may, yet, SAVE our beloved Olympus Spa.
Here’s an excerpt from the Olympus Spa’s About Page:
“This spa is a family owned business dedicated from a husband to his wife as a gift of honoring women.
Olympus Spa believes that one’s true beauty can only be achieved when one feels healthy. In other words, our spa’s focus on restoring and rejuvenating one’s health comes first before achieving anything else.
Not only are we interested in women’s physical health but we are equally interested in spiritual health. There is an old Korean saying, “All of one’s physical illnesses come from one’s mind.” There are now many recent medical studies proving that stress can cause physical, emotional and behavioral disorders which can affect one’s health, vitality, peace-of-mind, as well as personal and professional relationships. Too much stress can cause relatively minor illnesses like insomnia, backaches, or headaches, and can contribute to potentially life-threatening diseases like high blood pressure and heart disease.
We want to create a place for women to come and focus on all aspects of wellness, inside and out.”
I love the Olympus Health Spa. It is rare and wonderful, and needs to be protected. Thank you for this article.
