A number of years ago, it occurred to me that our social media feed says a lot about us. I’d read magazine articles warning of the dangers of social media and algorithms that would pull a person down the dark tunnel of radicalism, rage and hate. Then, I’d think, “Wait a minute?” Because, my social media feed was anything but that.
The truth is, algorithms simply reflect back to us what we find appealing, interesting, or worthy of our time. A positive person’s social media feed becomes increasingly positive, and visa versa.
Every since then, I’ve been fascinated by my own feed. It’s just plain interesting to scroll through one’s feed and think, “Oh gosh, so this is the stuff I spend time reading, watching, sharing forward, and liking.” And one category I’ve come to love is what I call “Humans Are Awesome” content!
Over the past few days, I’ve collected some of my favorites. These videos, whether they come from YouTube or Facebook Reels or wherever, fill me with joy! They make me smile. They make me cheer! And, today, I hope to share all those positive feelings and sheer amazement at the brilliancy of our species!
