Retroactive Blocking & Data Scrubbing on FB
There is power and then there is that ineffable level of power abuse by those in positions of societal influence that is so wrong on it’s face…it leaves one breathless.
Dear Freedom Friends,
I know Facebook is enemy territory. And, I know I’m on their “hit list.”
Why? I publish information contrary to the narrative they support. Should I be surprised by anything Facebook does, at this point? No. Yet still, my nearly-crippling sense of honesty (I can’t lie to save my life and I generally fail to catch sarcasm) leaves me vulnerable to shock, dismay and a frequently bruised chin as my jaw hits the floor again and again. Honestly, (no pun intended) the deceivers make me want to cry.
In a few minutes, I’m going to get back to the task at hand (the upcoming launch of our Reporting Hesitancy Project Survey #1). But, first, I’m going to share with you the effects of a new wave of censorship flooding Facebook Land.
I opened my account today, to find that I’m on a 24-hour ban. Why?
The answer sends a shiver of dread up my spine and a looming question: How do we dig ourselves out of this mess?
A whole now level of censorship is spreading across Facebook Land like a plague, comprised of “retroactive” scrubbing of posts (and blocking of users) based upon endlessly changing goal posts of what is and is not “against FB standards.” This post was published nearly three months ago, and now - it’s suddenly being removed? And, I’m being placed on a temporary ban?
It’s like passing a law that marijuana is illegal (again) and then chasing down everyone who shopped at a cannabis store over the past year and charging them with a crime.
Think this couldn’t happen? It is happening, and has happened, across the planet whenever and wherever a society devolves into a form of tyranny, dictatorship, fascism or totalitarianism. In our lifetimes. In Saudi Arabia, China, North Korea and now Australia, Canada, the USA, Turkey, France…the list is growing, and it must be protested against.
Here is my previously allowed (now against standards & punishable) post:
Why have I not encouraged my sons to get these new injections?
Simple. We don't know enough to determine true safety and efficacy. We have hope and ideas formed over a few months...and no surprise...the excitement of the first few months has run into the reality of rapidly waning efficacy.
We also do not understand the long term effect or the harm caused by this new medical intervention on our bodies and our immune systems. We simple DO NOT. And, for some people who are cavalier about what they put into their bodies or who are terrified of the virus, this is a risk they willingly take...I am not those people.
So, you can imagine how grateful I am to have been cautious, NOW that data is being compiled and we are beginning to see evidence that the risk (to my sons' demographic) is greater from the vaccine than the virus.
Yeah, read that again, or just jump down to the actual article.
(Note: they are looking specifically at teenagers in Britain, but when the US Military began injecting their service members (late teens to early 20's) they found that heart problems post-vaccination were 6 times greater than what the FDA was admitting to...in a demographic that is essentially prepared and ready to catch the virus and recover handily.)
-------------Referenced Study--------------
Teenage boys are six times more likely to suffer from heart problems from the vaccine than be hospitalised from Covid-19, a major study has found.
Children who face the highest risk of a “cardiac adverse event” are boys aged between 12 and 15 following two doses of a vaccine, according to new research from the US.
The findings come as Professor Chris Whitty, England’s chief medical officer, prepares to advise ministers on whether there is a wider benefit to society from vaccinating children.
Last week, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) delivered its long-awaited verdict, saying the “margin of benefit” of jabbing 12- to 15-year-olds was “considered too small” and citing the low risk to healthy children from the virus.
However, Sajid Javid, the Health Secretary, said he wanted Prof Whitty and the chief medical officers from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to “consider the vaccination of 12- to 15-year-olds from a broader perspective”.
He said he would then “consider the advice from the chief medical officers, building on the advice from the JCVI, before making a decision shortly”.
Report will prompt fresh concerns over jabs for children
Research published on Thursday will prompt fresh concerns about whether the risk of the vaccine outweighs the benefits for otherwise healthy children.
A team led by Dr Tracy Hoeg at the University of California investigated the rate of cardiac myocarditis - heart inflammation – and chest pain in children aged 12-17 following their second dose of the vaccine.
They then compared this with the likelihood of children needing hospital treatment owing to Covid-19, at times of low, moderate and high rates of hospitalisation.
Researchers found that the risk of heart complications for boys aged 12-15 following the vaccine was 162.2 per million, which was the highest out of all the groups they looked at.
Evidence from studies show it is unlikely for boys to suffer either heart problems from the vaccine or be hospitalised by Covid.
The second highest rate was among boys aged 16-17 (94.0 per million) followed by girls aged 16-17 (13.4 per million) and girls aged 12-15 (13.0 per million).
Meanwhile, the risk of a healthy boy needing hospital treatment owing to Covid-19 in the next 120 days is 26.7 per million. This means the risk they face from heart complications is 6.1 times higher than that of hospitalisation.
This is based on current rates of hospitalisations from Covid-19, which are judged to be “moderate”. During a period of low risk of hospitalisation, such as June 2021, the likelihood of heart complications rises to 22.8 times higher, and during a period of high risk, such as January 2021, the likelihood of heart complications is still 4.3 times higher.
The study, which has not yet been peer reviewed, analysed reports of adverse effects children have suffered from the vaccine between January and June of this year.
The study looked at MRNA vaccines - such as Pfizer and Moderna - which will be particularly relevant for Britain because youngsters will not be given the AstraZeneca jab because of the increased risk of dangerous blood clots.
Last Friday, the JCVI could only recommend that jabs among 12- to 15-year-olds be extended to include children with major heart, lung, kidney, liver and neurological conditions.
But ministers are understood to be keen to give the children’s vaccine roll out the green light, and the NHS has already started recruiting thousands of vaccinators for schools.
In conclusion, Freedom Friends, let me make two points.
(1) I am the FIRST PERSON to acknowledge that the science is never settled. It is entirely possible (likely? inevitable?) that the late 2021 data on this topic will change over time. The fact that Facebook comments are recorded for posterity inevitably leads to VAST swaths of outdated and inaccurate information. Consider people who posted their strong opinions about SARS-CoV2 originated in a Wet Market selling bats in Wuhan? In February 2020 (yes, you read that correctly) the Chinese Government itself acknowledge the "wet market origin idea” was without foundation. This worked against their interests, as it left the Wuhan Lab far more vulnerable to accusations as the origin, but they said it anyway. And hardly no one noticed. QUESTION FOR FACEBOOK: Will you go back and scrub every single post stating that SARS-CoV2 originated in a Wet Market in Wuhan? Will you punish and block every person who ever said such a thing?
(2) Everyone should be worried about this. Terrified, really. The precendent being set, the dangers implicit and the need for organized censorship to be dealt with is huge. Please, do not shrug. An injustice for one truly is an injustice for all. You will inevitably land on the chopping block, at some point, unless you become an acolyte of the New Religion of Government Sanctioned Narratives.
In conclusion, I’ve been making real world connections with my existing community in Facebook Land in preparation for leaving entirely. Do I do this willingly? No. I do it as a grudging concession to the travesty that is our times.
Have a similar story? A thought to share? An idea for those wanting to remain in Facebook Land or an invitation to another platform for those who are uninterested in becoming citizens of META? Please share below in the comments.
My advice for all - leave all social media. I personally don't have any true social media accounts, and I couldn't be happier. I get my news from all sorts of varied sources, not social media, so I have no algorhithmically (sp?) curated echo chamber to keep me ideologically aligned. These algorithms have steered us into being less interested in our normal interests like religion, sports, and each other, and replaced them with politics and ideology.
When I can, I use Tor as my web browser and Duck Duck Go as my search engine (this is not always feasible, but at least limits my exposure to Google's prying eyes).
How do I stay in touch with people, i.e. friends, family, acquaintances? I call them, text them, send an email, or better yet, I go and visit with them face to face! We have lost something in our technologically-driven society...the ability to communicate and connect with other humans. Interpersonal communication and relationships are sorely lacking, replaced by the illusion of MORE relationships, forged through technological and digital connection. Something will always be lost in translation, and I challenge those who claim their Facebook "friends" actually count as friends. Are they really?
Additionally, it has fuelled a desire to out-compete each other in the digital world, creating a much more narcissistic society than what would happen naturally. It has come to a point now where the gratuitous selfie makes me want to hurl, as it becomes the true measure of that narcissism. I am very competitive by nature, but digital competition bores me, and therefore, I get nothing from it. So, I stick to good old-fashioned personal head to head competition with actual people sitting, standing, or running in front of me.
My suggestion? Take the pediatric advice of my childrens' doctor - no more than one hour of screen time per day, get more exercise, eat healthy, and stay off of social media.
You were banned because your posts are physically and mentally exhausting. Beyond the fact that they are at best only marginally related to the group's intent, they are rambling, hard to follow, and filled with suspicious logic and sketchy information. It wasn't Facebook, it was the people in the group .
You present facts with little reference or context, and attempt to diminish expert knowledge while inoculating (the irony) yourself against any facts or logic that run counter to your predefined beliefs (eg by referencing the "mainstream media narrative").
I know you fancy yourself as some sort of warrior for truth but in reality you come off as a propagandist with an axe to grind. I am incredelous to how you are able to spend so much time researching sources that confirm your own biases and absolutely and completely miss the point of vaccines.
"Asking questions" and "knowing the facts" in the context of a world where you can always find information to support your beliefs means less than you think it does. I can't imagine the cognitive dissonance that one must have to sit on our island and completely miss the fact that most of us aren't simply getting vaccinated because of ourselves per-se, but because of our larger community.
