Beam us up, Scotty!
Star Trek groomed us to want a New World Order. How’s that working out, so far?
Over the past week, hundreds of thousands of us (millions?) have learned a great deal about the trucking industry. The classist bigotry directed toward truckers, painting them as under-educated, blue collar, low income workers with questionable morals, is obviously 100% off point.
In fact, it appears that many truckers have a great sense of pride in their work, are incredibly well coordinated & organized, clearly possess a great skill set that keeps our supply chain running, are more than capable of pulling off the largest convoy in history (thank you!!), and are chronically under-appreciated.
Pretty awesome, right? But then, something caught my eye. It was a photo of a shiny and sleek Autonomous Truck. One more example of machines replacing humans in the workforce, presented as an inevitability, but is it? I’d LOVE to hear from some truckers on this one!
On one hand, I imagine a level of automation could improve safety for drivers who are tired, but would the industry demand faster trucking times, arguing that you don’t need to stop to sleep? I’m super curious to hear some of your thoughts!
Especially after the past week.
I see a significant problem with a shift toward an autonomous trucking fleet, it goes far beyond job elimination. If our supply chain falls into the hands of the Elites, then what tool of human resistance could ever replace it? The Trucker Convoy to Ottawa is peaceful, united, and the best that humanity can offer! But, it couldn’t have been done on foot or by bicycle, and a convoy of cars would just look like traffic.
These trucks are BEASTS! It’s like a fleet of dragons bearing down on Ottawa, and even the word “fleet” brings to mind awesomeness and noteworthy power!
Let’s be honest.
Massive nations are making war upon their own people, with the tacit & active support of the police & military, leaving virtually no way for the people to protect themselves.
Red Alert! — Red Alert! — Red Alert!
If it were not for the #TruckersConvoy2022 laying (a very polite) siege to the Canadian Capitol, all might be lost. The convoy and the HUGE groundswell of support from across the land, as East meets West, is peaceful, lawful and non-violent; but the power is there nonetheless.
Without this power held in the sovereign hands of a free people, we will be left to tell our children “to hope” the government will be nice to them.
Europeans, throughout the centuries, had no power, as subjects, indentured servants, feudal villagers and serfs. They, too, “hoped” that the new Prince or Lordling would be nicer than his tyrannical father, the King.
Is this where we want to find ourselves, or leave our children, to suffer once again?
I know he wasn’t a Canadian, but Teddy Roosevelt was a President I would gladly vote for, in these dire times. I imagine Teddy Roosevelt was far less of a puppet to the power-holders of his time; unlike Trudeau and Biden who are both the political equivalent of an attractive drug rep hired for his or her charm; with little to no knowledge of the drugs peddled or the harms caused. (I recommend Love and Other Drugs, for a mature audience; sorry kids!)
Let’s rock ourselves some Teddy Roosevelt Quotes!! Whoot! Whoot!
In honor of the men, women, families and communities that are getting ‘er done up there in the True North; please drop your favorite CANADIAN heroes and quotes in the comments below! (It is out of respect that I do not try to do this myself, as I am an American and humbly recognize how little I know about Canada…and (LOL) if ya’ll hate the man, still focus on his words, because there is wisdom there, whosoever uttered them.)
“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.”
“Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.” (Trivia: When Teddy Roosevelt said this, he was quoting a West African proverb!)
“When you’re at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.”
“To educate a person in the mind but not in morals is to educate a menace to society.”
“Courage is not having the strength to go on; it is going on when you don't have the strength.”
And, I’ll end with a long one, worth every second of your time: "The President is merely the most important among a large number of public servants. He should be supported or opposed exactly to the degree which is warranted by his good conduct or bad conduct, his efficiency or inefficiency in rendering loyal, able, and disinterested service to the Nation as a whole. Therefore it is absolutely necessary that there should be full liberty to tell the truth about his acts, and this means that it is exactly necessary to blame him when he does wrong as to praise him when he does right. Any other attitude in an American citizen is both base and servile. To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. Nothing but the truth should be spoken about him or any one else. But it is even more important to tell the truth, pleasant or unpleasant, about him than about any one else."
In truth, concretely…what is it that guarantees our right to criticize Trudeau and Biden, Macron and Van der Bellen, Mattarella or Schulz? Is it an old piece of paper that’s barely legible and frail? Is it our ability to come together and stand strong, with some level of real power? I would say it is both.
Why? Because tyrants are born in every generation and, if we let them, they will do away with our sacred, historical agreements. In fact, they largely already have, with the creation of “new emergency powers” in anticipation of an overwhelmed public bowing down to them, with gratitude and obedience.
It is for this reason that I fear the worst thing that could happen would be the conversion of our shipping fleet to autonomous trucks; eliminating not only a tremendous number of skilled jobs, but also the power of the people to stand up with strength when necessary.
This convoy is happening because we have traitors in the Halls of Government, and this will never cease to happen. There will never be a “utopian future.” Our best hope is that, with mindfulness, hard work and strong community ties, we can save our children and grandchildren from a dystopian future. That’s good enough for me, because it’s reality - not fantasy.
We may explore our Solar system, even our Milky Way Galaxy at some point, but there is no sci-fi Star Trek future waiting for us.
Star Trek was based upon the fundamental idea that the people in power (on OUR side, of course) would be wise, good and trustworthy. Indeed, Hollywood groomed an entire generation to dream of space travel (making it much easier to find NASA) and trust authority figures.
Captain Kirk, in the end, could do no wrong.
Spock was actually the best character, because he was willing to see the flaws and the potential negative consequences.
Dr. McCoy, magically solved almost everything with an injectable medicine that he whipped up in a few hours or a couple of days and there were no lasting adverse side effects.
Did the writers just dream this stuff up? Yes and no. Hollywood is always desperate for money, and from Big Tobacco to the Liquor Lobby, Big Pharma to the military, funding is how you insert your messaging into the movie or the TV show. (Who hasn’t noticed that “vaccines” have become the solution to everything, including Zombies in World War Z !)
My radio interview with Matthew Alford covers American Military meddling with Hollywood, which brings us back to Star Trek! Did you know there are eleven (yes, 11) distinct Star Trek productions, all with valiant leaders who save the day, the ship, the crew, Earth, and probably the whole dang Universe already or eventually…all from the sanctified authority of the Captain’s Chair. It’s social programming on steroids!
It’s actually a great television show! But still, just a story. We say that to ourselves, but do we really get it?
I think people have come to believe that earth is going to be different (in the future) than it has always been. There is an underlying belief that we are on a trajectory to a better world, a unified planet, coming together as one species, to save the environment and ourselves!
But, there’s a flaw to that thinking, as we all know, and as Plato described so eloquently millennia ago.
In a world, where democratic societies depend upon the individual to fight fiercely for a position of power, we must take this warning seriously. And, this is why power must forever be decentralized and scattered throughout society.
When a human being makes a mistake, and they have their finger on the proverbial red button, we have a catastrophe. And, that is our one certainty: our real world leaders will make mistakes. This is why we must, as Teddy Roosevelt said so clearly, always be prepared and able to honestly criticize their mistakes — from a position of power, so we cannot be ignored.
As is happening right now, in Ottawa!
To all the good, trustworthy, balanced, decent, salt of the earth people who do not crave power over others: I, like you, shudder at the idea of running for office. But, we need people like us (balanced, uncompromised, honest and truly service-oriented) in our government.
Something to think about, while chomping popcorn and watching Jean-Luc Picard stand strong, firm and compassionately against the Borg.
Hmmm. That storyline bears a striking resemblance to the challenges we face today. I think I’ll take some notes on how to avoid assimilation into the “One Way Only” narrative that has infected so many.
You?
I hope you enjoyed the article! In a couple weeks, the Reporting Hesitancy Project will release a public survey. We want you to know about it! Please subscribe to my Substack to receive an invitation on the day of the launch.
A paid subscription will send $10 a month to the Truckers Convoy 2022 for so long as it takes to Defeat the Mandates!!
On a personal note: My job was eliminated in March 2020, and I am trying to make a living with my writing. Each article takes 6-10 hours to write, review, revise and edit.
Your support is appreciated.
I've had some interesting thoughts lately on this "One Way Only" notion, and that the properties of this phenomenon actually hold the seeds of destruction for meme-based oppression and tyranny (i.e., oppression relying on a large majority 'buying into' a false premise to work).
In the earliest stages of the covid psyop, there was a small portion of people like me (and some others in the substack community) that immediately disbelieved it; there were a portion of people that wholly bought into every single statement, even those that would later contradict themselves, because it parsed along their existing tribal affiliations or was compatible with their brand of pre-existing mental illness (anxiety, hypochondria, social deficits, etc.).
And there was a significant portion "in the middle" who went along to get along.
This all sounds like Malone and mass formation, but don't get bored, I'm going somewhere else with it.
Let's call these groups skeptics, cultists, and sheep.
I'm willing to bet money that nobody (at least in any measurable number) who started as a skeptic has since become a cultist. There are definitely skeptics that have given into coercive measures (my job, my kid's school, my property values, my vacation, my peaceful interactions with relatives, etc.) and become sheep- that were finally made sufficiently uncomfortable to "go along to get along." It's possible that cognitive dissonance could turn a small number of skeptic-turned-sheep into full-blown cultists, but I seriously doubt this- this is the kind of phenomenon that would be blasted all over social and legacy media ("I used to be an Anti-Vaxxer. Now I Wear Twelve Masks. Here's Why") and I just don't see it.
On the other hand, cultists have every single one of the premises upon which they base their allegiance assaulted by the steady flow of leaked truths every single day. There have been virtually NO major victories in the other direction in the court of public opinion: no massive revelation that skeptics have been wrong about ANYTHING besides the MSM saying things like "shut up, racist."
When a cultist becomes a skeptic, they absolutely don't go back. Like born-again religious followers, they are even more robust in their allegiance than originals. They've been burned.
The rather labored point I'm getting at is that, while it is happening at various speeds, the prevailing winds can only ever blow cultist -> skeptic, not skeptic -> cultist. The cultist population can only shrink, and the skeptic group can only grow, barring some major revelation that any serious skeptical argument is wholly wrong.
After a sufficient amount of time, the only people left in the "cultist" group will be the minority that are completely psychologically dependent on covid as an ideological identity. And as mandates and other oppressive measures tighten, "sheep" will reach their individual breaking points and become skeptics.
Making the far more interesting element the traffic passing through "sheep" in both directions.
I never cared much for politics until Trudeau was up. I've learned so much during this journey. I live in a little space with few financial goals since I've already achieved so much - more than I ever dreamed of. But the overcoming adversity during the struggles of achieving those goals have been what made my iron, my ability to stand up to tyranny. I don't believe God would want us to lose our freedoms - and he punished heavily the Egyptians for not letting His people go to serve him when Pharaoh refused. So I have to continue to believe that 430 years Israel was enslaved they learned to overcome the indoctrination even though the golden calf was created due to that 430 years of indoctrination. People will find it hard to not want to go back to what enslaves them bc it will take digging in deep and real soul searchiing alng with trusting God to carry us out of this. I believe in freedom so I can serve my God. The fact that they have cut us off from that made me aware where the source of all this is coming from. God always wins. Will I be here when he does? Only time will tell. But it is not up to me to determine the future of freedom, I will wait for that to be revealed. Great article. conditioning has been paramount. Children being told that parents couldn't discipline etc. Government has been too involved in our lives. tTime to keep focusing on gratitude for all he has given us and pray for His will to appear in his time. This COV did not make me turn away from God as they hoped. It made me turn to him even more
