The internet has changed my life for the better!
Let me count the ways…
(1) Access to knowledge.
Any day that I change my mind, is a good day. It means I have learned something of value which I allow to alter my opinion / comprehension of a topic.
(2) Dodging media manipulation and control.
There is no “one answer” to anything. The internet allows each one of us to explore topics widely, gather diverse views, and form opinions for ourselves.
(3) Language learning couldn’t be easier (aside from immersion schools).
I am currently learning Korean. Thanks to the internet, I have access to thousands of Korean Languange videos on YouTube, I can watch K-Dramas in Korean with English (or Hangul) subtitles on Netflix, there are multiple translation apps on my phone, and of course, Duolingo!
(4) Awareness of international events, which put local events into perspective.
Thanks to social media, I am aware of events happening around the world that are being blocked, ignored, minimized and skewed by “corporate controlled media” and the people who use this obfuscation system to confuse and distract.
Thanks to Facebook Reels, I am joyfully aware of and inspired by the organized farmers of Germany, who are brilliantly advocating for their needs, at a time when Americans desperately need examples of bravery and democratic citizen engagement.
Thanks to Instagram, I can witness and be heartened by the committed, insightful, balanced and well-spoken opinions offered by common folk everywhere, including parents who are defending and protecting and advocating on behalf of girls and young women everywhere.
Thanks to many sources available on the internet, I can readily and easily gather vital information, data, charts, graphs and also read in-depth, detailed scientific studies that directly relate to government narratives and propaganda that, when placed side by side with real world facts, DON’T ADD UP.
For example, how does it make sense for the Western World to be panicking over carbon emissions, implementing dozens of extreme policies that will directly harm European citizens — when this is happening?
Or — when this is the global reality, as it’s understood by ALL corporations and globalists, yet rarely mentioned on “mass media” which is essentially a “mass brainwashing device” piped directly into billions of homes daily?
(5) I can do my own research.
Thanks to the internet, I can access real world, real time data, and I can use my brain to identify gaps in logic, to notice where people in positions of power and influence are trying to suggest that 2 + 2 = 5. It doesn’t and it never will.
With regard to the “climate change narrative” (which I will address more fully in a future post), there are so many logic flaws and other ways in which we could be going about sustaining our species and renewing the natural environments on this planet, that the current narrative is laughable. Or it would be, if it weren’t so terrifying.
(6) The list goes on.
But, I don’t want to write it all down in one post, so look for more later.
Until then, remember this: “You are as empowered as you decide to be, and the internet is a tool waiting for you to reach out and use it — wisely.”
