Blitzed in a Blizzard
Cultivate the attitude & skills that will lift you out of the trenches of an undeclared war and set you on the path to self-discovery & empowerment.

Dear Freedom Friends,
It happens to us all, right? Life overwhelms.
It’s like a blitz in American football! BAM! You’re on your back, vision slowly returning as you stare up at the sky and wonder, “WTF just happened?”
When life (as in, the planet) throws a blizzard of events your way, it’s coincidental.
But, when the human world brings it on — it’s not an accident.
Whatever form of “keeping up with the news” you do, the past two years have been intense. Partly because of the topics and issues of the day. Partly because of the emotional toll each “newsworthy development or event” has on our psyche. But, mostly, it’s the sheer, endless onslaught of highly distressing, anxiety-triggering, catastrophic issues stacked end to end with zero breathing space for nigh on 30 months — and constant reminders that there is no end in sight!
In times like these, is it any wonder that the vast majority of us are feeling bowled over, snowed in, flooded and generally overwhelmed? No. Not a surprise. At. All.
And, the blizzard of our times is — no accident.
Let’s jump back to the American football analogy. I’m sure rugby and hockey and soccer have similar stratagems, but I’m an American gal, so here we go! The goal of a blitz play is not to score points. The goal is to overwhelm the opposing team in two ways. Stop their physical, forward progression and weaken them emotionally. Crush their confidence. Leave those charged with protecting the quarterback feeling angry and foolish, as they pull their precious ball-tosser up out of the mud. Better yet, sack the quarterback HARD. If it costs you a 15-yard penalty to break his spirit and distract him with fear, who cares? By doing so, you may have just won the game.
And that blitz? It’s also — not an accident.
We live in a human-constructed world that is being orchestrated, manipulated, directed and driven by forces beyond our ken. So have we always, but that’s beside the point. What I’d like to talk about today is not how history rhymes. I want to focus on how we can weather the current storm!
Not simply survive the blizzard, the hurricane, the tornado, the tsunami, the cyclone, the sand storm, the drought and the heat wave…but how we can use all of these “stressers” as opportunities to become stronger, wiser, more connected with those we can depend upon and better at predicting, preparing for and dodging the blitz!
Don’t Lose Yourself to Emotions
Years ago, I found this image of Morgan Freeman. I printed it out and placed it front and center on my refrigerator door. A daily reminder, encouragement and wish for how I would like to live my life. Do you have a similar, visual kick-in-the-pants saying or quote or image in your home? Your car? Your office? If not - why not? Because, like the opposing team’s desire to blow the quarterback’s confidence and disrupt the mood of the offensive team with a successful blitz, our emotional collapse is the actual, factual GOAL of our enemies.
“Action is the Antidote to Despair.”
Years ago, I discovered this quote by Joan Baez. It has been a part of my mindset, my lifestyle, my approach to each day, and embedded in my email signature line ever since. It is also blisteringly true that those who take action are much healthier than those who don’t. Any action!
Physical activity, for example, helps us process and eliminate stress hormones. The person sitting still while scrolling through the internet freaking out about all the horrors of the moment does not metabolize those stress hormones as effectively, allowing them to saturate their body longer, causing harm and damage to delicate tissues and organs.
In fact, when it comes to resolving problem situations, we always benefit from “doing something” about them. I mean, just read that sentence again. What could be more holistic, natural, logical and normative than the idea of “doing something” about a problem one has? My tooth hurts - I’ll floss, look in the mirror and maybe call the dentist. The lawnmower blade is dull - I’ll sharpen it or ask to borrow a neighbor’s mower until I can get it fixed. I want toast - I’ll grab the bread from the freezer, put a slice in the toaster and depress the button so it heats up.
When action makes so much sense, what is it that stops us? Exactly what Morgan Freeman encourages us to overcome: emotions. To be clear, I’m not against emotions, and neither is Morgan Freeman. What he and I (and you, I’m sure) are concerned about is lives lived poorly as a result of emotions that overwhelm and prevent us from DOING what we need to do.
Am I foolish enough to suggest it’s easy or simple to follow Morgan Freeman’s advice? Hell no! Take a look at the shit-show going on inside most all of us on a day to day basis and ask yourself, “How many people are truly self-aware of the myriad feelings and emotions flowing through them?” Few to none, is my answer, and that’s on a good day.
But, impacted we are. So, what do we do about that? Self-reflect for starters, and so, I invite you to spend some time actually reading the below emotion chart. Don’t just see it, nod and move on. Read it. Tilt your head into a crazy sideways angle, to see what feelings feed into Excited or Joyful, and what feeds Lonely, Awful and Despair. Stay here awhile. Ask yourself, which of these do I feel most often? When? And why?
Here are Three (3) Ways I Seek to Reclaim Power:
(1) Controlled Input = Emotional Protection & Increased Action
If a person lost in a blizzard spends ten hours obsessing about every detail of the terrible predicament she’s in, she’ll probably fall prey to hypothermia before taking a single action to save herself. If I spend three days noticing every detail about my teeth, my gums, my tongue, my toothbrush, my toothpaste and so on, will I ever call the dentist about my one sore tooth? Probably not! That new brown spot on the back of your left arm? You could spend six weeks perusing the internet searching “brown spot on my skin” and still not have read everything that’ll come up in your Duck Duck Go Search! Maybe, calling a dermatologist (taking action) is more useful?
Mainstream media isn’t my thing. I learned years ago that the content is generally garbage. So, I’ve been mostly spared the pain and suffering that comes from imbibing the legacy media offal related to the Covid Experience. But, I’ve watched with dismay as people I care about have been emotionally, psychologically and physically abused for 700+ days in a row. One story that made me feel actual anger was recently related to me by a fellow islander. She described to me the anxiety she felt, each week, when the local paper was delivered to her home. Despite knowing that it would upset her, she felt compelled to flip through the paper, peppered by the endless barrage of fear-creating, anxiety-causing and illness perpetuating wordsmithing. Every week she did this, even though she started off anxious and sometimes ended up sick to her stomach.
Please don’t do this to yourself. Or, maybe it sounds better this way? Don’t let people do this to you.
There is a HUGE difference between irresponsible ignorance and boundaries. Every minute of your life is valuable. Hugely so! Be jealous of your time. Be stingy and refuse to waste a precious minute! Prioritize your self-protection.
Because YOU can. What’s truly sad is all of the children of the United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and EU Member States who have no protection from the Western Block Nation Narrative. Unless you are blessed to be educated by your parents (homeschooling, unschooling, life learning, worldschooling, online schooling) or by a private school that hasn’t drunk the pervasive Globalist Agenda Kool-Ade, just take a minute to consider the many messages that are being funneled straight into the ears, eyes and minds of impressionable children who spend 40 hours a week in a submissive position within a system where even their parents’ power is questioned?
Connect with Real People
In a very real way, the antidote to social isolation may be an old-fashioned and strange behavior rarely witnessed in our new, modern century. It goes by the seemingly benign, euphemistic term: “interacting.” An old relic of bygone eras, it used to be normative for humans to seek out and perform non-mating rituals with other humans merely based upon physical proximity. Yes! Without taking time to check off all the echo chamber boxes, confirming that nothing uncomfortable might be expressed, witnessed or imposed upon one’s tender mind. To be honest, we’re not sure if this is a real thing, or a myth.
Seriously, folks. I don’t see how we can exist in a healthy way (or for much longer) if we give up, abandon, lose and fail to teach the quintessential skills of neighborliness to our younger generations. At this point, we’re only one generation away from being well and truly primed for a catastrophe. People my age (45 and older) grew up with skills — a la Sesame Street, Mister Rogers and various other societal encouragements — that allowed us to have a polite, reasonable and respectful conversation with diverse individuals. We (45 and older) are soon to become the new grandparent generation. And those two generations below us? They are in trouble.
One of my favorite movies ever is The Great Debaters, a drama based on the true story of Melvin B. Tolson, a professor at historically black Wiley College in Texas. In 1935, he inspired students to form the school's first debate team, which went on to challenge Harvard in the national championship. In the process, they inspired him and others in their parents’ generation. Why do I love this movie? No, let me rephrase that! “What do I love about what Melvin B. Tolson and his debate team did?”
I love that they met hardship and challenge with grace and bravery. I love that they attempted to sway minds through a logical and empassioned explanation of their perspective — not through bullying, cancel-culture or other forms of thought control & censorship. I love that they chose to stand up, when they had every emotional, logical and historical reason to sit down in despair. I love that they lifted themselves up, despite a very real temptation to tear one another down. I love that they didn’t give up on what they knew was right. I love that they did not quit.
A Few of my Favorite Quotes:
“I am here to help you find - and keep - your righteous mind.”
“The time for justice is - always - right now!”
“My message to you, is to never quit!”
Organize. Organize. Organize. Oh, and don’t forget to organize!
Today, the world is as close to FUBAR was I’ve ever seen it. Many believe it’s as bad as it’s ever been. I don’t know about that. The Black Plague was a pretty bad time to be alive. Er, um…several bad times to be alive. That sucker kept coming back again and again. The collision of the old world and the new world was horrific beyond our ability to fully comprehend or admit. The last century sucked, on a global level, in so many ways. And yet, here we are, facing a “nearly” FUBAR moment in human history, on a physical, environmental, societal and existential level.
Oh! I should mention, FUBAR is an acronym that originated in the military to stand for the words "fucked up beyond all repair." Therefore, I proclaim us to be FUBAAR: “fucked up beyond almost all repair.”
If you don’t mind, please bounce back up to the top of this essay, where I suggest that the blizzard of our times is — no accident. It is my opinion that PEOPLE organized this reality we are living in. On purpose. And, they’re still organizing their butts off! Let me be really, really clear. From everything I’ve read, it is likely that every person who has been infected with the SARS-CoV2 virus (not just those injected, but each and every person who has experienced a Covid infection) is a victim of a planned biological attack that took tremendous effort to organize. By who, how, why and for what purpose, remain unanswered questions.
Of course, we’re not the first & we certainly won’t be the last.
According to Homer’s epic poems about the legendary Trojan War, the Iliad and the Odyssey, spears and arrows were tipped with poison.
In Greece, 590 BC, Athens and the Amphictionic League poisoned the water supply of Kirrha (near Delphi) with hellebore.
Herodotus (a questionable historian, but the best we have) reported that Scythian archers in the 4th century BC dipped arrow tips into decomposing cadavers of humans and snakes, or in blood mixed with manure, to cause wounds to fester.
In 184 BC, Hannibal of Carthage had clay pots filled with venomous snakes. His sailors threw them onto the decks of enemy ships.
The Roman commander Manius Aquillius poisoned the wells of enemy cities around 130 BC, and in AD 198, the Parthian city of Hatra (near Mosul, Iraq) repulsed Septimius Severus’ Roman army by hurling clay pots filled with live scorpions at them.
Roman soldiers also dipped their swords into excrements and cadavers, resulting in many victims of minor injuries later dying of tetanus.
But, that’s all old tech. We’re living in a new, golden age of technological and scientific advancement!
But, it’s not technological advancement alone that has changed the face of biological warfare. The nature of human to human conflict has shifted fundamentally. Flinging infected corpses of plague victims over the walls of a castle is all well and good, if your war is openly stated — but what if you can’t risk being so obvious? What if your goal is not to defeat an enemy but to panic your own people (Treason) to the point of being perfectly malleable?
For that, you need to organize in a different way. For that, you must control the conversation. For that, all primary communication platforms must be in your back pocket. So you can keep a sufficient percentage of the population dumb, blind and quiescent. Even when reality is screamingly obvious. If you can silence articles like this one, what can’t you do?
My dear friends. We are at war. It is, as yet, undeclared. But, it is happening. And those who started it are Hell-A organized! Thus, we should be, too! So, what are you waiting for?
The perfect trifecta of activism can be attained by organizing events around important topics, with other people (preferably face-to-face) in one’s own community.
This is the anti-Blizzard!
It may feel like it will add to the stress of a complicated blizzard-like life, by throwing one more ball in the air or one more slab of tofu on one’s plate, but trust me! The emotional benefits of taking action, having control over content, connecting with your fellow human being and doing so in an organized fashion…will be far greater than binge-watching the newest season of your favorite escapism show on your favorite steaming platform.
If you want to go for a walk or jog or bike ride alone, yay! Exercise is great for stress. But…maybe try exercising with friends who agree to replace bitching about “they and them” with listening to and encouraging one another in brainstorming effective ways to face up to, deal with and move toward a solution to problems in our local communities? Start small! But please, start.
Whether or not you are mentioned in the history books of the future, there is a very real chance that you will emerge with stronger friendships, a healthier emotional outlook, reduced stress hormones, some laughs, some empathy, some new ideas gleaned from those who bring a different perspective to the conversation and refreshed social skills!
I'm pretty sure Morgan Freeman never said that. Do you have a source for that quote?
For me, it would be helpful if you summarized your points at the top so I could more easily get the main points of the essay.
You are so right about how things are going. I pray a global epiphany is coming. Of course, it would arrive here last, the home of the globe spanning empire of violence, brutality, and cruelty.
What would it look like? It would be the sudden realization of what a beautiful planet we have, what amazing life lives here, what amazing people we are if not constantly manipulated. It would mean we get down to the real work of turning our planet toward a sustainable, stable, nurturing future. Now that is something worth working towards IMO.
Keep up the good work.
